I am an Assistant Professor for Mathematics of Machine Learning at RWTH Aachen University.

My research concerns the mathematical foundations of machine learning, with a focus on deep learning theory, reinforcement learning, and optimization.

Before joining RWTH in 2022, I was an NSF TRIPODS Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2020.
